Publications and Productions
Sea Level has assisted clients in meeting their mitigation expectations. This is often in the form of public history publications or interpretive signage.
Sitka Tribe of Alaska – The World War II Base End and Searchlight Stations of Sitka Sound was such a publication. Sea Level contracted with the Sitka Tribe of Alaska per the Department of Defense. The aim was to remediate World War II contamination compromising Tlingit lifeways and harvest areas.

Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium – Sea Level compiled the history and stories from those who attended Mount Edgecumbe Boarding School or worked on the hospital campus circa 1950s. The focus of our research are the four Public Health Service (PHS) buildings on Tongass Drive of the Mount Edgecumbe Hospital Campus on Japonski Island, Sitka.
The four houses served the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) as office buildings, were built by students at Mount Edgecumbe Boarding School. These students attended carpentry, electrical, drafting, milling, and diesel engine classes in the 1950s. The PHS buildings were determined eligible for National Register of Historic Places due to their involvement with the tuberculosis epidemic. They signify important developments in post-World War II building technology and educational programming. Together, the buildings were referred to as Public Health Service Buildings on Tongass Drive Historic District.
This project was conducted per regulatory stipulations. These are between the Indian Health Services and the Alaska State Historic Preservation Office.
